Supplication about the Heart and the Soul
O Allah Almighty! I seek refuge with You from four things: from knowledge that is of no benefit, from a heart that does not humble itself, from a soul that is never satisfied, and from a supplication that is not heard.
After the Final Tashahhud, Seek Refuge from Four Things
It is reported from Ibn Abbas (may Allah Almighty be pleased with them both), and this hadith is also in both Sahih collections, that the Prophet (May Allah Almighty bless him and give him peace) used to teach them this supplication just as he taught them a chapter from the Quran: “O Allah Almighty! I seek refuge with You from the punishment of Hell, I seek refuge with You from the punishment of the grave, I seek refuge with You from the trial of the false messiah (Al-Masih Ad-Dajjal), and I seek refuge with You from the trials of life and death.”
Supplication in Prayer Seeking Refuge in Allah Almighty
Aisha (may Allah Almighty be pleased with her), the wife of the Prophet (May Allah Almighty bless him and give him peace), reported that the Prophet (May Allah Almighty bless him and give him peace) used to say in his prayer: “O Allah Almighty! I seek refuge with You from the punishment of the grave, from the trial of the false messiah, from the trials of life and death. O Allah Almighty! I seek refuge with You from sin and from being in debt.”
She said: Someone asked, “O Messenger of Allah Almighty, how often you seek refuge from debt!” He said, “When a man falls into debt, he speaks and lies, and he makes promises and breaks them.”
Supplication for Salvation from Disgrace on the Day of Resurrection
“And do not disgrace me on the Day when they will be resurrected.” (Ash-Shu‘ara 26:87)
This is the supplication of Ibrahim (peace be upon him): “Do not disgrace me on the Day when all are resurrected.”
