Supplications During Prayer

Supplications and remembrances that you can recite during prayers.

Supplication for Performing Wudu (Ablution):

Before performing wudu, say:

(In the name of Allah Almighty), and after completing wudu recite this supplication:

(I bear witness that there is no deity except Allah Almighty alone without any partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger).

(O Allah Almighty, make me among those who constantly repent and among those who purify themselves).
Remembrances During Ruku (Bowing):

It is narrated from Ibn Abbas (may Allah Almighty be pleased with them both) that he said: While people were praying behind Abu Bakr (may Allah Almighty be pleased with him), the Messenger of Allah Almighty (may Allah Almighty bless him and give him peace) lifted the curtain and said: “O people! Nothing remains from the glad tidings of prophethood except the righteous dream that a Muslim sees or is shown to him. Indeed, I have been forbidden from reciting the Qur'an while bowing or prostrating. As for bowing, glorify the Lord Almighty in it, and as for prostration, strive in supplication, for it is worthy that your supplication be answered.”

(Glory be to my Lord, the Most Great, Who is free from all imperfections and exalted in might and majesty).
It is narrated from Aisha (may Allah Almighty be pleased with her) that after the revelation of surah:

the Messenger of Allah Almighty (may Allah Almighty bless him and give him peace) did not perform any prayer without reciting this supplication:

and in another narration:

(You are Glorified, O Allah Almighty, our Lord, and all praise is for You; O Allah Almighty, forgive me).
It is narrated from Aisha (may Allah Almighty be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah Almighty (may Allah Almighty bless him and give him peace) used to say in his bowing and prostration:

(Most Glorious, Most Holy, Lord of the angels and the Spirit [Jibril]).
It is narrated from Awf ibn Malik al-Ashja‘i (may Allah Almighty be pleased with him): One night I stood with the Messenger of Allah Almighty (may Allah Almighty bless him and give him peace) in prayer. He recited Surah Al-Baqarah. He did not pass by any verse of mercy without pausing and asking Allah Almighty for mercy, nor any verse mentioning punishment without pausing and seeking Allah Almighty’s protection. Awf said: Then he bowed, and his bowing lasted as long as his standing, and in his bowing he said:

(Glory be to the One Who possesses majesty, sovereignty, greatness, and might). Then he prostrated, and his prostration was as long as his standing, and he said the same words, then he stood for the second rak‘ah and recited Surah Aal-Imran, and after that, he recited another surah.
