Morning and Evening Supplications
11- اللّهُـمَّ عالِـمَ الغَـيْبِ وَالشّـهادَةِ فاطِـرَ السّماواتِ وَالأرْضِ رَبَّ كـلِّ شَـيءٍ وَمَليـكَه ، أَشْهَـدُ أَنْ لا إِلـهَ إِلاّ أَنْت ، أَعـوذُ بِكَ مِن شَـرِّ نَفْسـي وَمِن شَـرِّ الشَّيْـطانِ وَشِـرْكِه ، وَأَنْ أَقْتَـرِفَ عَلـى نَفْسـي سوءاً أَوْ أَجُـرَّهُ إِلـى مُسْـلِم .
O Allah Almighty! Knower of the unseen and the seen, Creator of the heavens and the earth, Lord and Master of everything! I bear witness that there is no deity but You. I seek refuge in You from the evil of my soul, from the evil of Satan and his association, and from bringing harm upon myself or causing harm to a Muslim.
21-
بِسـمِ اللهِ الذي لا يَضُـرُّ مَعَ اسمِـهِ شَيءٌ في الأرْضِ وَلا في السّمـاءِ وَهـوَ السّمـيعُ العَلـيم .
In the name of Allah Almighty, with whose name nothing on earth or in heaven can cause harm, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.
31-
رَضيـتُ بِاللهِ رَبَّـاً وَبِالإسْلامِ ديـناً وَبِمُحَـمَّدٍ نَبِيّـاً .
I am pleased with Allah Almighty as my Lord, with Islam as my religion, and with Muhammad (may Allah Almighty bless him and give him peace) as my Prophet.
41-
يا حَـيُّ يا قَيّـومُ بِـرَحْمَـتِكِ أَسْتَـغـيث ، أَصْلِـحْ لي شَـأْنـي كُلَّـه ، وَلا تَكِلـني إِلى نَفْـسي طَـرْفَةَ عَـين.
O Ever-Living, O Sustainer! By Your mercy I seek help. Set all my affairs right and do not leave me to myself even for the blink of an eye.
51-
أَصْبَـحْـنا وَأَصْبَـحْ المُـلكُ للهِ رَبِّ العـالَمـين ، اللّهُـمَّ إِنِّـي أسْـأَلُـكَ خَـيْرَ هـذا الـيَوْم ، فَـتْحَهُ ، وَنَصْـرَهُ ، وَنـورَهُ وَبَـرَكَتَـهُ ، وَهُـداهُ ، وَأَعـوذُ بِـكَ مِـنْ شَـرِّ ما فـيهِ وَشَـرِّ ما بَعْـدَه .
We have entered the morning, and the dominion belongs to Allah Almighty, the Lord of the worlds. O Allah Almighty! I ask You for the goodness of this day — its opening, victory, light, blessing, and guidance — and I seek refuge in You from the evil within it and the evil that follows it.
For the evening it is recited:
أَمْسَيْـنا وَأَمْسـى المُـلكُ للهِ رَبِّ العـالَمـين ، اللّهُـمَّ إِنِّـي أسْـأَلُـكَ خَـيْرَ هـذهِ اللَّـيْلَة ، فَتْحَهـا ، وَنَصْـرَهـا ، وَنـورَهـا وَبَـرَكَتَـهـا ، وَهُـداهـا ، وَأَعـوذُ بِـكَ مِـنْ شَـرِّ ما فـيهـاِ وَشَـرِّ ما بَعْـدَهـا.
61-
أَصْـبَحْنا [أَمْسَـينا] علـى فِطْـرَةِ الإسْلام ، وَعَلـى كَلِـمَةِ الإخْـلاص ، وَعلـى دينِ نَبِـيِّنا مُحَـمَّدٍ وَعَلـى مِلَّـةِ أَبِينـا إِبْـراهيـمَ حَنيـفاً مُسْلِـماً وَمـا كـانَ مِنَ المُشـرِكيـن.
We have entered the morning [or evening] upon the natural disposition of Islam, the word of sincerity, the religion of our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and the way of our father Ibrahim (peace be upon him) — upright, a Muslim, and not among the polytheists.
17- It is narrated from Juwayriyyah bint al-Harith (may Allah Almighty be pleased with her) that she said: The Messenger of Allah Almighty (may Allah Almighty bless him and give him peace) said to me: “After you left, I said four phrases which, if they were weighed against all that you have said today, they would outweigh them:
سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ، عَدَدَ خَلْقِهِ، وَرِضَا نَفْسِهِ، وَزِنَةَ عَرْشِهِ، وَمِدَادَ كَلِمَاتِهِ.”
Glory and praise be to Allah Almighty — by the number of His creation, by His pleasure, by the weight of His Throne, and by the ink of His words.
To be recited three times in the morning:
سُبْحـانَ اللهِ وَبِحَمْـدِهِ عَدَدَ خَلْـقِه ، وَرِضـا نَفْسِـه ، وَزِنَـةَ عَـرْشِـه ، وَمِـدادَ كَلِمـاتِـه . (ثلاثاً)
I glorify Allah Almighty and praise Him as many times as the number of His creation, as much as pleases Him, by the weight of His Throne, and by the extent of His words.
18- To be recited in the morning:
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْماً نَافِعاً، وَ رِزْقاً طَيِّباً، وَ عَمَلاً مُتَقَبَّلاً.
O Allah Almighty! I ask You for beneficial knowledge, good and pure provision, and accepted deeds.
19- To be recited three times in the evening:
أَعـوذُبِكَلِمـاتِ اللّهِ التّـامّـاتِ مِنْ شَـرِّ ما خَلَـق .
I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah Almighty from the evil of what He has created.
