Supplications During Prayer

Getting Up for Tahajjud Prayer:

From Abu Hurairah (may Allah Almighty be pleased with him) it is narrated that the Messenger of Allah Almighty (may Allah Almighty bless him and give him peace) said:

“Allah Almighty the Exalted descends every night to the lowest heaven when the last third of the night remains and says:
‘Who will call upon Me so that I may answer him? Who will ask Me so that I may give him? Who will seek forgiveness from Me so that I may forgive him?’.”
When the Messenger of Allah Almighty (may Allah Almighty bless him and give him peace) woke up for the Tahajjud prayer and intimate conversation with his Lord, he would wipe his face with his hands to remove sleep, then recite the last ten verses of Surah Aal Imran, and afterward go to the hanging water-skin, performing a good and complete ablution from it.
From Ibn Abbas (may Allah Almighty be pleased with them both) it is narrated that he said: Whenever the Prophet (may Allah Almighty bless him and give him peace) rose for the night prayer, he would say:

Sufyan said: Abdul Karim Abu Umayyah added these words

Sufyan said: Suleiman ibn Abi Muslim heard it from Tawus, from Ibn Abbas (may Allah Almighty be pleased with them both), from the Prophet (may Allah Almighty bless him and give him peace).
Translation of the supplication: “O Allah Almighty, praise and thanks be to You; You are the Sustainer of the heavens and the earth and whatever is in them. Praise and thanks be to You; You are the Owner of the heavens and the earth and whatever is in them. Praise and thanks be to You; You are the Light of the heavens and the earth. Praise and thanks be to You; You are the King of the heavens and the earth. Praise and thanks be to You; You are the Truth, and Your promise is true, meeting You is true, Your word is true, Paradise is true, Hellfire is true, the Prophets are true, Muhammad (may Allah Almighty bless him and give him peace) is true, and the Hour is true. O Allah Almighty, I submit myself to You, I believe in You, I rely on You, I turn to You, I dispute for Your sake, and I judge according to You. So forgive me for what I have done before and what I will do later, what I have done secretly and what I have done openly. You are the First and the Last. There is no god worthy of worship except You (or: there is no god besides You).”
In another narration, the Prophet (may Allah Almighty bless him and give him peace) said:

(Narrated by Al-Bukhari).
“The night prayer is offered two by two (in sets of two rak‘ahs), and if you fear that dawn is approaching, then perform one rak‘ah of Witr to conclude your prayer.”
