Supplication for protection from the evil eye:
اَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّةِ مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْطَانٍ وَهَامَّةٍ وَمِنِ عَيْنٍ لاَمَّةٍ
(I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah Almighty from every devil, poisonous creature, and every envious eye).
When a storm or strong wind arises, say:
It is narrated from ‘Aishah (may Allah Almighty be pleased with her) that when the wind blew, the Messenger of Allah Almighty (May Allah Almighty bless him and give him peace) would say:
اللَّهُمَّ إنِّي أسْألُكَ خَيْرَهَا وَخَيْرَ مَا فِيهَا وَخَيْرَ مَا أُرْسِلَتْ بِهِ، وأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّهَا وَشَرِّ مَا فِيهَا وَشَرِّ مَا أُرْسِلَتْ بِهِ
(O Allah Almighty, I ask You for its goodness, the goodness within it, and the goodness for which it was sent. And I seek refuge in You from its evil, the evil within it, and the evil for which it was sent).
Narrated from Abdullah ibn Umar (may Allah Almighty be pleased with them both): When the Prophet (May Allah Almighty bless him and give him peace) heard the sound of thunder, he would say:
اللَّهُمَّ لاَ تَقْتُلْنَا بِغَضَبِكَ وَلاَ تُهْلِكْنَا بِعَذَابِكَ وَعَافِنَا قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ
(O Allah Almighty, do not destroy us through Your anger, nor annihilate us through Your punishment, and grant us safety before that happens).
Supplication when seeing someone afflicted with calamity or illness:
Narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah Almighty be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah Almighty (May Allah Almighty bless him and give him peace) said: When one of you sees a person afflicted by a trial, let him say:
(الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي عَافَانِي مِمَّا ابْتَلاَكَ بِهِ وَفَضَّلَنِي عَلَى كَثِيرٍ مِمَّنْ خَلَقَ تَفْضِيلاً)
(All praise is for Allah Almighty who has saved me from that which He has afflicted you with and has favored me over many of His creation).
He will remain protected from that affliction for as long as he lives.
Supplication at the time of breaking the fast (Iftar):
Narrated from Abu Sa‘id al-Khudri (may Allah Almighty be pleased with him): The Prophet (May Allah Almighty bless him and give him peace) said:
السَّحورُ أُكْلةُ بَرَكةٍ، فلا تَدَعوه، ولو أنْ يَجرَعَ أَحَدُكم جُرْعةً من ماءٍ؛ فإنَّ اللهَ وملائكتَه يُصلُّونَ على المُتَسَحِّرينَ
(The pre-dawn meal [Suhoor] is a blessed meal, so do not abandon it even if one of you takes only a sip of water, for indeed Allah Almighty and His angels send blessings upon those who take Suhoor).
Narrated from Salman ibn ‘Amir (may Allah Almighty be pleased with him): The Prophet (May Allah Almighty bless him and give him peace) said:
إذا أفطر أحدكم فليفطر على تمر فإنه بركة ، فإن لم يجد فليفطر على ماء ، فإنه طهور
(When one of you breaks his fast, let him do so with dates, for they are blessed; and if he cannot find dates, then with water, for it is pure).
Narrated from Sahl ibn Sa‘d (may Allah Almighty be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah Almighty (May Allah Almighty bless him and give him peace) said:
لا يَزَالُ النَّاسُ بِخَيْرٍ مَا عَجَّلُوا الْفِطْرَ
(People will continue to be upon goodness as long as they hasten to break their fast).
Narrated by Ibn Majah from Abdullah ibn Amr:
إن للصائم عند فطره دعوة ما ترد
(Ibn Majah 1753)
(The fasting person has a supplication at the time of breaking his fast that will not be rejected).
Supplication at the time of Iftar:
اللهم إنی لک صمت و بک آمنت و علیک توکلت و علی رزقک أفطرت
(O Allah Almighty! For You I have fasted, in You I believe, upon You I rely, and with Your provision I break my fast).
Supplication when visiting a sick person:
Narrated from Abdullah ibn Abbas (may Allah Almighty be pleased with them both): The Messenger of Allah Almighty (May Allah Almighty bless him and give him peace) visited a Bedouin who was ill. Whenever he visited a sick person, he would say:
«لا بَأسَ؛ طَهُورٌ إنْ شَاءَ اللهُ»
(No harm; it is purification, if Allah Almighty wills).
Supplication when visiting the graveyard:
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ أَهْلَ الدِّيَارِ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُسْلِمِينَ، وَإِنَّا إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ بِكُمْ لَاحِقُونَ، نَسْأَلُ اللَّهَ لَنَا وَلَكُمُ الْعَافِيَةَ
(Peace be upon you, O inhabitants of these dwellings, from among the believers and Muslims. Indeed, we, if Allah Almighty wills, will join you. We ask Allah Almighty for well-being for us and for you).
Supplication of condolence to the family of the deceased:
إِنَّ ِللهِ مَا أَخَذَ، وَلَهُ مَا أَعْطَى وَكُلُّ شَيْءٍ عِنْدَهُ بِأَجَلٍ مُسَمَّى … فَلتَصْبِرْ وَلْتَحْتَسِبْ
(Surely, to Allah Almighty belongs what He took, and to Him belongs what He gave, and everything has an appointed term. So be patient and seek reward from Allah Almighty).
Supplication when placing the deceased in the grave:
بِسْمِ اللهِ وَعَلَى مِلَّةِ رَسُوْلِ اللهِ
(In the name of Allah Almighty and upon the way of the Messenger of Allah Almighty, I place this deceased in the grave).
Supplication after the burial of the deceased:
أَللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لَهُ أَللَّهُمَّ ثَبِّتْهُ
(O Allah Almighty! Forgive him, O Allah Almighty! Grant him steadfastness [when questioned by the angels]).
